Ryan Westwood

About Ryan:

Ryan Westwood is an indie folk singer-songwriter based in Portland, Oregon.

Songwriting is the core of his artistic expression. Weaving powerful vocals with a steady fingerpicking guitar style, his music sounds like a mix between James Taylor, Ben Harper, and Jeffrey Martin. By combining strong storytelling, driving melodies, and insightful lyrics his songs foster self-reflection and enlightenment.

Ryan has been playing music for 20 years. After graduating with a BA in theatre from St. Ambrose University, in Davenport, IA, he worked as a street performer in the subways of Chicago. During this time, he wrote hundreds of songs, played guitar for over 30 hours a week, and acted in plays all over the city. He moved to Portland, Oregon in 2015 to work with Oregon Adventure Theatre, an outdoor Shakespeare theatre company, where he wrote and performed music for several of their productions.

Since kicking off his professional music career in 2020, Ryan has launched a Patreon which currently has over 70 monthly subscribers, released three singles grossing a combined 13,000 streams, started a songwriting business on Fiverr, developed an Instagram page with over 1,000 followers, and performs a weekly live stream.

Currently, he’s recording his debut album “Along the Rails”, set to release in the Fall of 2022.
